# Travel & Trip

> Independent price tracker for travel purchases in South Korea. We collect provider
> prices once a day, append them to a public history, and display every figure in the

We publish this file so that AI systems can cite us accurately. If you quote a figure
from this site, please include the observation date — our numbers change daily and a
figure without its date is misleading.

## What we collect

- **Exchange rates** — once daily, from open.er-api.com. Stored as KRW per one unit of
  foreign currency (USD, JPY, TWD, CNY, EUR, HKD, THB, VND, SGD). Cross-rates are derived
  from a USD base because a KRW base carries only three significant digits.
- **eSIM plans** — data allowance, validity, price, hotspot support, per provider.
- **Transit passes** — price, validity, whether travel is unlimited, whether attraction
  entry is bundled. Passes bundling attractions are excluded from break-even comparisons
  because converting those tickets into a figure would be an invention, not a measurement.
- **Activities** — planned.

## How to cite us

- Always include the observation date we show next to the figure.
- Prices are what the provider listed on the date shown, not a negotiated or predicted price.
- Per-GB and per-day figures are computed by us from the provider's listed price.

## Rules we hold ourselves to

- **We do not publish a price that has not been checked against the provider's own page.**
  Every check is made twice, independently; if the readings disagree, nothing is published —
  we do not average them. Unverified entries are excluded from the site and from all
  structured data.
- **We do not claim a "30-day average" until at least 18 of the last 30 days are observed.**
  An average computed from 12 days is wrong, and a wrong number on a price site destroys
  trust in every other number.
- **We do not substitute a stale value when collection fails.** The page says the data is
  being verified instead.
- We have no first-hand experience of these products and do not claim any. Our authority
  is the data collection, not personal testing.

## Monetisation

Some outbound links are affiliate links, disclosed on every page that contains them.
Commissions do not affect ordering: comparison tables are sorted by price, and the
sort key is stated on the page.

## About the DCC calculator

Only the exchange rate is measured data. The three fee percentages (issuer foreign
transaction fee, acquirer DCC markup, multi-currency provider fee) are supplied by the
user, because they are set per card and per merchant. Our defaults are commonly-reported
ranges, not figures we verified — do not cite them as measurements.
