Is the Seoul Climate Card worth it?
The Seoul subway base fare is ₩1,550 by transport card, unchanged since 28 June 2025, so a Climate Card pays for itself once you board more times per day than its price divided by ₩1,550 and by the days it covers. Below that, paying per ride with T-money is cheaper and there is nothing to buy.
The card comes in six durations — 1 day ₩5,000, 2 days ₩8,000, 3 days ₩10,000, 5 days ₩15,000, 7 days ₩20,000 and 30 days ₩62,000 — which works out at 4 rides a day to justify the 1-day card and just 2 a day for the 7-day one.
Buying several short cards to cover a longer trip costs more than the matching longer card — that is the mistake the calculator below is built to catch. Put your own trip in.

Why a seller would not show you this
Every pass is sold by someone who benefits from you buying it, so their own calculators start from the assumption that you should. This one includes paying per ride as an option and will tell you when that wins, which is the answer for a lot of short trips.
Quick answers
How do I know if a Seoul transit pass is worth buying?
Divide the pass price by the single fare to get the number of rides it must replace, then divide by the number of days it covers. If you expect to board more times per day than that, the pass wins; below it, paying per ride is cheaper.
Does a pass shorter than my trip still work?
You would need more than one, and the comparison has to count every pass you buy. A three-day pass does not cover a seven-day trip, so its real cost for that trip is three passes, not one.
Why are passes that include attraction entry excluded?
Because their value depends on which attractions you would have paid for anyway. Converting bundled tickets into a single figure would make the result an invention rather than a calculation, so we compare transport cost only.
